Many of you have probably seen this advertisement in the March issue of The ShowTimes, where we introduced three new team members – Shannon Cook, Shawna Chabot & Robin Kleine.
These three women will be working for Focus Marketing Group in many different aspects, and over the next three weeks we will introduce them one by one, starting with Robin.
We’ll have Robin introduce herself –
Hi everyone! I’m Robin Kleine, a December 2012 graduate of Kansas State University, where I majored in Agricultural Communications & Journalism and Animal Sciences & Industry. In college, I worked for the Dept. of Animal Sciences, where I met good friends Ryan & Sharon Breiner. Ryan, the herdsman at K-State Purebred Teaching Center, gave me my first opportunity to design a sale catalog and gave me a new appreciation for those in graphic design and data entry!
While at K-State, I also had five internships across the country (K-State Youth Livestock Programs, Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben Foundation, Accelerated Genetics, The American Royal and Sure Champ), where I was able to really grow my “community of livestock friends.” This community is full of the best of the best, and I now have people everywhere to help me answer my questions or give me a couch to crash on.
But, upon graduation, I returned home to Northwest Indiana to be closer to my family and boyfriend. My dad farms with my uncle in Cedar Lake, Ind., where we grow corn and soybeans, and had a commercial hog operation up until 2008. But, my real passion is beef cattle, and my brother Joe and I started our own herd – RJ Show Cattle. We show, raise and sell a few select calves each year, primarily shorthorns and club calves.
Now, I live in Rensselaer, Ind. with my boyfriend Nick and our precious, spunky golden retriever, Cougar. It’s great to be closer to home, with our families nearby and with my favorite bovines right outside my window.
My responsibilities at Focus Marketing Group are as field staff, I will be sort of the “Eastern Rep” taking pictures and videos in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and surrounding states. But I also do print and web design, as well as manage all of the social media outlets for Focus. I must say, since I started at the end of February, we’ve seen tremendous growth in readership and followers on all of our outlets – Facebook, Twitter and the blog. Thanks everyone!

I’m excited to really jump in and get started. I can’t wait to meet all of you down the road, and it’s great to really fill the need for a Focus Marketing team member here in the Midwest.
