Meet the Staff – Kent Jaecke

Continuing with our February “Meet & Greets,” we have another FMG crew member on the blog today.

Kent Jaecke, Owner / Operations Manager

1. Tell us about your responsibilities at FMG.
As do all Field Representatives, I am responsible for scheduling each shoot, performing the shoot, getting images edited and forwarded to the appropriate media, and invoicing each shoot to Kyla for billing. As Owner, my responsibilities include driving new business to the company, reviewing field representatives quality of work, assisting in scheduling field representatives, customer service issues, budgeting for each year and constantly generating new marketing ideas to maintain new business for the company.

2. When did you start with FMG.
Kyla and I started Focus in November of 2010, having our initial meeting at the Cardinal Restaurant in Louisville, KY. Designed the company?s infrastructure, hired our initial employees – Katie Smith and Erick Schmidt – designed our company logo, and made plans for our launch of the company in Denver at the National Western Stock Show in January 2011.

3. Share a little bit about your background in the livestock industry.
My background started as a very early age growing up on a diversified cow/calf operation in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Attended Kansas State University and graduated in 1984. Upon graduation, I worked for the High Plains Journal, as a field representative for Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Missouri. In 1985, I took a job as a Regional Manager for the American Polled Hereford Association, traveled Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Western Montana working with breeders and advertisers. In 1987, I accepted a position as Activities Director of the American Shorthorn Association and Publisher of the Shorthorn Country Magazine. I traveled the entire U.S. and Canada assisting breeders with marketing their cattle, designing advertising campaigns, and organized all activities for the Association nationally. In 1992, I accepted a position with the Western Livestock Journal as a Livestock Representative in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. In 2000 I started my own marketing company, J Bar Livestock, working with clients across the U.S. in the marketing of their products, working the ring at over 90 sales a year. And started FMG in November of 2010.

4. What?s is the best part about your job at FMG?
Getting to work side by side with the most talented and dynamic young people of our company, and having the opportunity to work with the absolute most successful and exciting livestock firms in the U.S. in all breeds on a daily basis. It?s the people and the ability to be involved with these organizations day after day.

5. When working on a project, what?s your favorite tool?
My favorite tool I work with each day is my phone. My phone allows me the ability to communicate with my co-workers, friends, clients and family each and everyday

6. You?re cruising down the road, what are you listening to on the radio?
My favorite music that I love listening to is very diversified, from George Strait to early 80?s Rock and Roll, and from Red Dirt to today?s popular country artists. My iPod is pretty diverse, but my favorite artist to listen to when I?m trying to stay awake on those late night drives is Erick Schmidt?s rendition of Mary J. Blige???.LOL

7. Outside of work, what are your hobbies?
Not that I have much time off, but it?s well documented that I am an avid golfer, St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and the most enjoyable part of my life is being Brooks Jaecke?s Dad. I love spending time and laughing with my son. He is and will always be the love of my life, and my greatest accomplishment.

8. Share something we might not know.
There are no unknown facts about me…due to Facebook and all social media outlets in the world today…My life is an open book.

Who can resist this face??

We look forward to assisting you in your livestock marketing efforts. Remember, we have field representatives located across the country. For more information about booking and our services, be sure to visit our website — www.focusmarketinggroup.net.
