Macy is going to be helping us taking candids at the 2017 Maine-Anjou & Chianina National Jr. Show in Hutchinson, Kansas. We think Macy is awesome and going to be a great asset to have in the ring getting candids! She shared a little bit about herself in a recent interview.
Share a little bit about yourself. My name is Macy Griswold, and I graduated from Oklahoma State University last December. While there, I studied animal science and agricultural communications, but fell in love with the communication classes. I live at home in Perkins, Okla. and have spent the last semester enjoying free time and furthering my photography business! I showed steers and heifers growing up and having the opportunity to take pictures at livestock shows has allowed me to stay in touch with a part of my life that I miss so much.
How long have you been a photographer? I received my first camera for Christmas 4 years ago and found a love and passion I never knew existed! I enjoy having people as my subject just as much as I enjoy livestock!
What?s your favorite memory from your own years showing livestock? I have many memories from my show career, but I would have to say all my favorites include family and friends. Banners are always fun to win, but the people truly make it memorable. However, a moment I will never forget is showing in the grand drive at the Oklahoma Youth Expo in 2012 and exhibiting the reserve grand champion steer.
Why are you looking forward to the Maine/Chi Jr. Nationals? I am looking forward to seeing old friends and making new friends at Maine/Chi Jr. Nationals. I am also looking forward to learning and bettering myself with Focus Marketing Group!
Tell us something you think others would be surprised to know about you. I judged on three judging teams in college! Meat, Livestock, and Meat Animal Evaluation
