Derek Vogt
Hello There! I?m Derek Vogt. I was raised up in Boelus, Nebraska. Most of my time was spent on my brother in-laws farm in Cairo, Nebraska working with the club calf business. I owe him a big deal of thanks for getting me into the cattle world. I have been very passionate about the industry and it has gotten to where I am today. So thank you Rick Schultz for all the support and knowledge you?ve given me through the years.
I became involved in the show calf industry at a young age. I have been lucky enough to compete at all levels and have been able to work with some of the greats of the business. The show cattle world is my passion.
I am currently on my final year of school at the University of Nebraska-Kearney. I am majoring in Agribusiness. I will be graduating in May. During my time I work on the club calf operation as well as in the Agronomy business throughout my summer.
I am glad to be a part of the great team that is FOCUS. I feel my skill set, along with everyone else?s on the team, will help get you and your cattle to that next level. Amanda Reeson
Hello! I grew up on a farm in West Point, Neb., a small town in northeastern part of the state. I have always been very involved in the livestock industry, growing up showing horses, hogs, and sheep at different points in time, however my weakness has always been for cattle, showing steers and ChiAngus and Maine heifers. Being from Nebraska, of course I am a proud Cornhusker and graduate of the University of Nebraska ? Lincoln. I graduated with a degree in Advertising, Graphic Design, and Communication in December of 2006. I have always wanted to continue involvement in the livestock business and use my education to promote the cattle industry. This involvement began as an internship with the American Shorthorn Association in April 2007. I enjoyed working with the junior members of the AJSA and I was thrilled when offered the opportunity to stay on board with the association because I knew that I would be working in an industry that was not only my passion but could only grow with the support of a great group of people. I continued with the Shorthorn Association as the Director of Marketing, Shows & Activities, until March 2012.
In April 2012, I relocated to Aberdeen, S.D to work for Midstates Inc. Print and Media Solutions, as well as eliminate the commute to see my boyfriend Jordan Holt. I?m loving life up here where I am back closer to my livestock roots and get to be on the farm and see cattle on a daily basis! I help with farm operations as Jordan and his brother Justin are Holt Brothers Show Cattle where the main focus is raising ChiAngus cattle for breeding purposes as well as club calves.
I admire how far Focus has come and I?m thrilled to be part of the Focus team and I am eager to see what lengths we can grow the company.
