FROM KENSIE —
I was born and raised in rural Oklahoma, so livestock and agriculture were always a part of my life. I was fortunate to grow up engaged in the livestock community, where I met wonderful people and shared many memories with family. I consider my time in that community to be some of the most valuable of my life. I learned hard work, dedication, sportsmanship, and integrity. Some of my most valuable memories are of chopping ice and feeding animals. Through years of having the privilege to care for animals, and watch them grow and succeed, I was able to learn what a little elbow grease can do in your life. There’s no better lesson for life than that!
QUICK FACTS ABOUT KENSIE —
We caught you belting it out, car karaoke style – what’s your go-to song? Fancy by Reba, it’s been my favorite since I was a little kid, singing it on the way to rodeos with my Aunt Mendi!
Favorite color? Green!
Do you have any hidden talents? I can roll my tongue, which I discovered at Ripley’s Believe It or Not Museum when I was 12. Apparently, it’s kind of rare! I also discovered I was in front of a two sided mirror while everyone laughed at me trying it on the other side.
What motivates you to work hard? My family, as well as the satisfaction of having a happy customer at the end.
Road trip snacks, what do you get at the gas station? Well, I am a super healthy eater, so I usually would go with a protein bar or something, but that’s no fun, so if I was splurging definitely a Cookies and Cream Hersheys bar and some Jalapeno Chips!
If you could see any band or performer in concert, who would it be? I would love to take my teenage daughter to Miranda Lambert, she is a huge fan of hers.
What is your favorite part about your job? I love solving problems for people and making their lives and businesses better. I also love a good computer code mystery, it’s so interesting to get in there and see the behind the scenes of computers and how they work and function.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Extrovert, but it takes me a minute to warm up.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I have loved computers since I was a kid, so I always wanted to work with them. I started building websites in high school, so I feel like I have always been on the path towards computer code.
If you were to describe yourself as an animal, which would you choose? My husband says I am a fox 🙂 because he says I am smart and witty.
On show day, what’s your job? It’s been a while since those days for me, but mostly my job was to help where I could. I ran around the barns and to the trailer a lot!
What’s the most unusual item on your desk or in your car? I think there is currently a spatula in my car because I couldn’t find the ice scraper and we just got a ton of snow in Utah!
What’s one thing on your bucket list and why? I have always wanted to visit Japan. I have heard it’s an awesome place to see, with so much rich history merged with so much up and coming technology (kind of like the cattle industry!).
